“IMC HealthCare is a wonderful place to work. I hope to retire from this company!”

TESTIMONIAL

“The biggest difference was the quality of the people IMC placed on-site. They enjoyed their work, felt valued by IMC and my plant management, and made a difference in my employees’ lives, on and off the job. With IMC not only did my worker’s compensation costs plummet, but my operators and employees loved the team on the ground...and they became a des facto part of the plant leadership team."

1. What services does IMC provide?

The levels of service provided by IMC HealthCare fall into 5 major categories:

Primary Health Care including the treatment of minor illnesses and injuries as well as the ongoing treatment and management of chronic conditions

Urgently needed health care including such things as headaches, minor injuries, sore throats, sprains and strains

Occupational Health Services including prevention programs, injury and illness treatment, emergency response, occupational health exams and tests, drug testing, OSHA reporting, case management and return to work programs

Health and Wellness programs focusing on preventing major health issues from ever occurring

Prescription medication services ranging from providing a courier service to deliver prescriptions to the employee to a limited pharmacy with pre-dispensed medications to a full-featured pharmacy staffed by a pharmacist

The cornerstone of our effectiveness in delivering on-site health services is that we carefully listen to you and then customize a clinic to ensure success. As such, your clinic may include any combination of the above features and use only those services under each category that will help you achieve your goals.

2. Are preventive and wellness programs included?

By helping your employees better manage their health, we help you better manage your health care expense. Our health and wellness programs are designed to educate your employees through such means as health risk assessments, brown bag lunches, and one-on-one counseling. We then allow accountability for their successes by providing individualized follow up. The goal in mind is a workforce willing and able to take a greater responsibility for their own health – creating a healthier and more productive work force.

3. What are the benefits of providing on-site health care?

More and more companies are providing on-site health care in order to cut the direct and indirect costs of providing health care to their employees. The natural extension of these benefits will be a happier, healthier and more productive workforce.

4. Why should a company consider outsourcing?

Outsourcing on-site health care allows you to focus on your core business while we focus on ours – developing, operating and managing work-site based employee health facilities. The result is lower overall costs, quality enhancements, limited liability and less management time.

5. Why should a company consider IMC?

IMC HealthCare is owned and operated by medical professionals. We have had the same leadership team in place since our inception over 20 years ago. Because of our corporate structure we will always be motivated by the quality of medical care and the quality of service to our clients and not the strength of earnings reported to an investor group.

6. What are the space requirements for providing an on-site health facility?

The space requirements are dependent upon the size of the organization and the objectives of the clinic. The clinic could be as small as 800-1200 square feet for a one nurse occupational health care clinic or up to 10,000 – 12,000 square feet for a fully-staffed, multi-Physician clinic. If space is a problem, we offer customized modular buildings. Other clients with a more dispersed workforce throughout a single city may choose a central location (such as a strip mall) to establish the employee health center.

7. How are the clinics staffed?

The level of staffing will be determined by the level of work that will be required. For example, for a clinic that is strictly focused on occupational health care, we will recruit COHN’s or nurses with experience in this area. If DOT physicals are required as part of the routine workload, then we would recruit a mid-level practitioner (nurse practitioner or physician’s assistant)

As the design of the clinic becomes more encompassing (urgent care or primary care) the level of staffing and volume of staffing will of course increase. Mid – level practitioners can often provide up to 80-90% of what a physician can provide at a substantially lower costs.

It is our intention to provide the highest caliber professional that will be a strong fit for your medical needs and also a strong fit for your environment. The medical professionals are full-time employees of IMC, where we enjoy a low turnover rate.

8. How do companies encourage the utilization of the clinics by their employees?

Many of our clients have been hesitant to provide on-site health care for fear that the facilities will not be utilized enough to meet a break even point. With absolutely no exceptions, our clients have found that the utilization has surpassed their hopes.

This is primarily accomplished through the quality of medical professionals that are placed at the clinics and the trust levels that are quickly established. Patients have found that the ability to be seen immediately without long delays for appointments and the carefully monitored service and waiting times are all the incentive an employee needs to choose the on-site facility over a more expensive alternative.

Because the cost of an employer sponsored on-site health care facility is lower, if the clients choose to continue with co-pays, the co-pays can be lower when visiting the on-site alternative.

9. What is the overall cost for these services?

An IMC dedicated on-site health care center is priced based upon staff and equipment and therefore results in a single fixed monthly fee, based on those parameters as opposed to based the fees on utilization. This “wholesale” approach to purchasing health care is much more cost effective. Treatments and procedures are based solely on necessity and established best practice guidelines. Because we do not provide a “fee for services” approach to charging for medical care, there is no financial incentive for inappropriate referrals, additional therapies or procedures.

10. What types of savings should we anticipate with on-site health care?

Savings vary from company to company and also depend on the type of health center. Most clients who install an on-site occupational health center realize a cost reduction from 20 to 55%, with the average savings in the 25% range. Urgent and Primary Care Centers usually produce 10-20% savings, but the dollars are so much larger in this area that the actual dollars range in the millions (savings).
